At Equans Data Centers, we know that the digital infrastructure of tomorrow depends on the talent we empower today. That’s why we proudly support #BreakTheCode, a group-wide Equans initiative that challenges the invisible barriers holding women back from engineering and tech careers.
What is algorithmic bias?
Our Equans Group CEO Jérôme Stubler launched #BreakTheCode shine a light on a growing issue: algorithmic bias.
This bias happens when algorithms, often trained on outdated and unbalanced data, replicate and reinforce gender stereotypes. For women, that can mean fewer engineering career suggestions, less representation in technical content, and limited opportunities surfaced to them online.
The result? Even as the demand for engineers rises, the number of women entering these careers is falling behind. Currently, the gap is widening.
At Equans Data Centers, we don’t accept that. In the data center sector, where performance and innovation go hand in hand, we know that diverse teams are stronger teams.
“ Together, let’s contribute – in all humility – to this worthy cause to help more women thrive in these professional careers. Let’s “break the code” and strive to take action each day to support this transformation. ”
Our commitment at Equans Data Centers
We’re supporting #BreakTheCode by embedding visibility, inclusion and meaningful action into how we work every day. We build inclusive teams because our culture values people, not stereotypes. We focus on skills, potential and collaboration. That’s how we design and build future-ready data centers at quality, speed.
This is not a one-day campaign
#BreakTheCode is part of a broader commitment to positive change. Across Equans Data Centers, we’re working to:
- Increase the number of women, especially in leadership roles. The future needs more women in engineering. We’re proud to back #BreakTheCode and support a future where women not only enter engineering, they lead it.
- Build inclusive environments where everyone can thrive.
- Support career development for women through mentoring and training.
- Spotlight more women in our communications, celebrating their expertise, sharing their stories and showcasing real career paths in the data center sector.
